Cillian Murphy Reveals He Turned To Co-Star Emily Blunt To Find 'Some Levity' On 'Oppenheimer' Set

Cillian Murphy stated that he needed to feel at ease while shooting for 'Oppenheimer.'

After the success of 'Oppenheimer,' lead actor Cillian Murphy has been feeling ecstatic. When doing such heavy, serious roles, he expressed that he needs some lightness. Now, during an exclusive chat with The Los Angeles Times, he revealed that on the sets of this film, he found that lightness and humour in co-star Emily Blunt.Ā

바카라œShe바카라™s one of the funniest people, and I have a rule that I can바카라™t work unless there바카라™s a lightness around the set,바카라 Murphy, 47, saidĀ of Blunt, 40. She played his on-screen wife, Kitty, in the film.

"There has to be some levity,바카라 Murphy detailed on how he likes the set to be. 바카라œA lot of the films I do are quite heavy and go to some dark, challenging places, and you have to be relaxed to do that. So I don바카라™t walk around in a state of f******Ā angst. I need to feel at ease."

He continued, "I can바카라™t be in that dark place all the time. I don바카라™t have the stamina for it.바카라

This was particularly important while filming the Christopher Nolan-directorial, where Murphy played the role of American scientist J. Robert Oppenheimer and hisĀ development of the atomic bomb.Ā

The Golden Globe-nominated performance by Murphy has been praised by his co-stars.Ā Blunt previously said that the actor "could only eat, like, an almond every day," to be able to lose weight to look likeĀ Oppenheimer, and Robert Downey Jr., who played Lewis Strauss, said he "never witnessed a greater sacrifice by a lead actor in my career" while shooting for the movie.
