Miss England Milla Magee Quits Miss World 2025 Alleging Exploitation; Official Says No Evidence Was Found

Miss England Milla Magee has grabbed the headlines after she walked out of the Miss World 2025 contest in Hyderabad, citing "ethical concerns". She claimed of being harassed and exploited in Telangana. Magee, 24, arrived in Hyderabad for the beauty pageant on May 7 but left the competition midway and returned to the UK on May 16.

According to The Sun, Magee told that contestants were used to entertain wealthy male 바카라�sponsors바카라� at posh dinners in Hyderabad as a 바카라�thank you바카라� for the financial contributions to the show.

"I felt exploited at having to talk to these dignitaries at dinners and one of the contest바카라�s officials clapped in my face after telling me and the other girls we were boring," she said.

Milla also said that she was made to feel 바카라�like a prostitute바카라�.

The Sun quoted Magee as saying, "I went there to make a difference, but we had to sit like performing monkeys. It's stuck in the past. Morally, I couldn't be a part of it. As far as I can see, it hasn't changed. All the crowns and sashes in the world mean nothing compared to using your voice and making a difference in the world."

She went to say that "other past contestants have been in touch to say they felt the same way when they were in Miss World. She also called it an "outdated organisation that just hasn바카라�t moved with the times."

PTI reported that a senior IAS officer in Telangana, who conducted an enquiry into Magee's harassment allegations during the ongoing Miss World 2025 pageant, said that he found no evidence of the charges.

Jayesh Ranjan, a Special Chief Secretary of the state government, on Sunday, said that he has completed the enquiry and "no evidence was found" over Magee's reported allegations.

On Sunday, Telangana minister and Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) working president KT Rama Rao, condemned the alleged harassment faced by Milla.

Taking to X, Rao wrote, "You are a very strong woman, Milla Magee, and I am truly sorry you had to go through this in our state of Telangana. It has a rich culture of respecting women. Unfortunately, what you experienced doesn't represent the real Telangana."

He added, "I hope you do feel better soon. As a father of a girl child, I wish no woman or girl ever has to go through such horrific experiences. Also, I strongly condemn the attitude of victim gaslighting and demand a thorough investigation into the allegations made by Miss England Milla Magee."

Julia Morley, Chairperson and CEO of Miss World Organisation, refuted the allegations and called it "completely unfounded and inconsistent" with the reality. 

"Earlier this month, Milla Magee requested to leave the competition due to a reported family emergency involving her mother's health. As a mother and grandmother herself, Julia Morley CBE, Chairwoman of Miss World, responded to Milla's situation with compassion and immediately arranged her return to England, placing the well-being of the contestant and her family first," the Miss World Organsiation said in a statement.

Citing some UK media reports, Morley said the allegations made by Magee regarding her experience in India are "false and defamatory."

"In response, the Miss World Organisation is releasing unedited videos recorded during Milla's stay in India, in which she expresses gratitude, joy, and appreciation for the experience. These videos reflect her own words and sentiments, and serve as a direct contradiction to the recent false narratives," the statement said.

"Miss World remains committed to truth, dignity, and the values of "Beauty With a Purpose", it added.

After Milla left on May 16, Miss England organisation issued a statement in citing personal reasons behind her withdrawal from the contest.

She said, "I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. Your encouragement has meant the world to me. I wish the remaining contestants the very best of luck as they continue their incredible journeys. My commitment to my project, GoFarwithCPR, remains stronger than ever.

I will continue working to ensure this vital life-saving skill is taught across England and beyond, empowering individuals and communities through education and awareness".

Angie Beasley, Director of Miss England said, "We regret to announce that Milla Magee has returned home to the UK due to personal reasons. We stand fully by her decision 바카라� health must always come first."

Following Milla Magee's exit from Miss World contest, Charlotte Grant, the 1st runner-up of Miss England, stepped in to represent her country.
