Kuberaa Box Office Collection Day 1: Dhanush's Film Fails To Surpass Raayan's Opening Day Earnings

Kuberaa Box Office Collection: The opening day collections of Dhanush starrer is less than his last theatrical release Raayan.

Kuberaa, Dhanush's Telugu debut and first film of the year hit the screens on June 20, with Aamir Khan's Sitaare Zameen Par. Directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Sekhar Kammula, the film received positive reviews from critics and audiences alike. From Dhanush, Nagarjuna, Rashmika Mandanna's performances, and screenplay to direction and BGM, netizens praised every single thing of the social drama.

Based on early estimates, industry tracker Sacnilk reported that Kuberaa earned Rs 13 crore nett in India. However, the opening day collections of Dhanush starrer is lower than his last theatrical release Raayan, which had earned Rs 15.7 crore. 

Kuberaa enjoyed a 57.36% occupancy throughout the day. Morning shows had an occupancy of 38.94%, and afternoon shows recorded 54.58% footfall. The numbers increased for the evening shows, at 57.04%. and night shows witnessed an occupancy of 78.87%.

About Kuberaa

Kuberaa has been simultaneously shot in Telugu and Tamil, and was released in Telugu, Tamil, and Hindi. It has been bankrolled by Suniel Narang and Puskur Ram Mohan Rao, and presented by Sonali Narang. Devi Sri Prasad has composed the music of the film.

The film also stars Jim Sarbh, and Dalip Tahil in pivotal roles.

Ahead of its release, Kuberaa was cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC), with an UA certificate, after 19 scenes were removed from the original cut. Approximately 13 minutes and 41 seconds, were deleted.

Kuberaa is expected to perform better in the weekend, with positive word of mouth. It might also cross the Rs 40 crore mark by the end of the first weekend. However, it faces competition from Sitaare Zameen Par in the Hindi belt.
