The trailer of Vijay Sethupathi starrer Viduthalai 2 was unveiled on November 26. Directed by Vetrimaaran, the film is set to hit the screens on December 20. Along with the trailer, the makers also launched Viduthalai 2 album, composed by Ilaiyaraaja.

Viduthalai 2 is all set to hit the screens on December 20. Starring Vijay Sethupathi in the lead role, the political drama is directed by Vetrimaaran.
Also starring Soori and Manju Warrier, Viduthalai 2 dives into the backstory of Vijay Sethupathi's character, Perumaal Vaathiyaar. It will start off where the first part ended. In the two-minute-39-second trailer, we see more of Vaathiyaar, the workers' union leader. The film seems to focus on several important issues like violence, oppression, and social justice.
The trailer also shows how the police and the government deal with the arrest of Perumaal Vaathiyaar. There is also a face-off between the police and Perumaal's men.
The trailer features some strong dialogues. Vijay Sethupathi's character's line, "When we start working to unite the people of land, race, and language, we will not be able to do politics with the arguments of caste, religion, and division that you have built," stands out in the trailer.

Viduthalai, released in 2023 was well received and was a hit at the box office.
The sequel also stars Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rajiv Menon, and Chethan in key roles. Anurag Kashyap has a special cameo appearance and he seems to be an important part of the sequel.
Viduthalai 2 is backed by RS Infotainment and Grass Root Film Company.
