All we came for
Was earning a wage, Sahab,
From the village to the city
Away from our own
It was just a question of hunger
What did we know
That this city
Nourished on our blood and sweat
Will one day
Become a cannibal
Rather than giving some scraps of sustenance
It will brutally gorge on
The very bodies that sustain it

Today, I바카라�m leaving.
Exiled from my own country,
Forced to migrate
Thirsty, hungry, barefoot
Bare바카라�
Returning to my
Own home village
Bearing my children
On my broken shoulders.
The same way that
We have eternally borne
The sordid weight of your
Savage caste system
Without an outward protest
But remember
If I survive
I will doubtlessly tell
My guiltless offspring
That when it was the most
Gruelling hour of our lives
When we were waging war
Against our hunger
Suddenly then
This country turned its back on us.

In the archive of the future
The helpless stare of enslavement
In my children바카라�s and my eyes
And that homicidal history
Of our everyday violence and death

Partition
No; here the partition
Isn바카라�t of a country
Or a religion
But the partitions
Of a country within a country
Inside cities
Villages partitioned, inside hearts
Privileges and pestilence partitioned
Inside Caste
Master and slave partitioned.

कमाने ही

तो आए थे, साहेब

गांव से शहर

अपनो से दूर

सवाल भूख का ही तो था

क्या पता था,कि

खून पसीने से सींचा

ये शहर एकदिन

आदमखोर हो जाएगा,

दो जून की रोटी के बदले

रोटी कमाने वालों को

ही निगल जाएगा।

आज जा रही हूं ।

अपने ही देश में

परदेसी हो कर,

पलायन को मजबूर

भूखी,प्यासी, पैदल

बेहाल ,

लौटना चाहती हूं

अपने ,घर गांव

अपनी संतान को

अपने कमजोर कंधों

पर उठाए।

उसी तरह, जिस तरह

आज तक उठाते आए हैं

तुम्हारी सड़ी-गली

कठोर व्यवस्था का बोझ

बिना किसी शिकायत

किन्तु याद रखना

मै ज़िंदा रही तो ज़रूर

बताऊंगी अपनी इन

अबोध संतानों को

कि जब सबसे मुश्किल

घड़ी थी,और हम लड़ रहे

थे भूख से जिंदा रहने की

लड़ाई तब अचानक

बेगाना हो गया ये मुल्क।

जा रही हूं, दर्ज करती हुई

भविष्य के पन्नो पर

अपनी व अपनी संतानों

की आंखों मे मजदूरों

की बेबसी ओर हत्याओं

का ख़ौफ़नाक इतिहास।

विभ��जन

नही ;विभ��जन

किसी देश ,

किसी धर्म का नही

बल्कि देश के भीतर

देश का है।

शहर के भीतर

गांव का

विभ��जन दिलों

के बीच

समर्थ और मजबूर का

मालिक और मज़दूर का।
