Delhi Chief Minister Atishi led a roadshow on Monday as she moved to file her nomination for the upcoming assembly elections in the capital. The Chief Minister was accompanied by former minister and AAP stalwart Manish Sisodia as hundreds of people gathered to show their support for the party.
With 'Fir Layenge Kejriwal' on full blast and Sisodia by her side, Atishi affirmed that AAP will remain a party for the people and a party that works for the people.
Calling this the "politics of work," the Delhi CM highlighted the enthusiasm around her as she moved to file her nomination for the assembly elections.
With the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Samman Yojana in focus, Atishi's roadshow saw women of all ages coming together in support for the second female Chief Minister in India.
"I have worked tirelessly in my constituency for the last five years. The people of Kalkaji are my family, they see me as their daughter and their sister. I am not just a representative, I am a part of their lives," the CM told news agency PTI.
She also took a jibe at the BJP, she accused the party of being anti-poor. Stating that the BJP is a 'jhuggi virodhi' and 'gareeb virodhi' party, the Kalkaji candidate stated that the AAP is committed to uplifting the marginalised communities.
In South Delhi's Kalkaji, its a tight contest between CM Atishi, Congress' Alka Lamba and BJP's Ramesh Bidhuri. However, both female candidates have expressed their displeasure against Bidhuri's candidacy due to his recent sexist remarks against Atishi and Priyanka Gandhi.
Delhi will head to the polls on February 5, 2025, across all 70 seats in a single-phase election. A three-way battle is underway for the elections in the capital between the AAP, Congress and BJP. The Election Commission will determine the winner of the elections and the people바카라™s mandate on February 8.
Assembly elections for the national capital come after the abrupt resignation of AAP's national convenor Arvind Kejriwal. Following his release from Tihar Jail, Kejriwal submitted his resignation and asked the people of Delhi to give their mandate.
