UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer is set to host a virtual "coalition of the willing" summit as global leaders work to secure peace in Ukraine. According to the BBC, Downing Street announced that around 25 leaders, including European partners, the EU Commission, NATO, Ukraine, Canada, and others, will participate.
Ahead of the meeting, PM Starmer emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin "cannot be allowed to play games" with the US-proposed ceasefire deal, accusing the Russian leader of attempting to delay a resolution.

US To Not Attend Meet
US representatives will be absent from today's virtual summit on the war in Ukraine. On Friday, the US president commended discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the US-proposed ceasefire deal, describing them as positive and productive. This follows a meeting between Putin and US envoy Steve Witkoff in Moscow on Thursday evening, after which the Kremlin expressed shared cautious optimism about the peace process.
President Trump said in a Truth Social post on Friday that the talks provided a very good chance that this horrible, bloody war can finally come to an end.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, however, accused Putin of trying to drag out talks to continue the war, while Sir Keir Starmer said the Russian president could not be allowed to play games with ceasefire proposals ahead of the virtual summit later today.
