The U.S. NSA바카라™s office conveyed to the MEA and to NSA Ajit Doval바카라™s office a few days ago that he would postpone his visit to Delhi for now.
Amid ongoing turmoil in Washington over communication security breaches within the National Security Council바카라”including the office of the National Security Advisor바카라”U.S. NSA Michael Waltz has postponed his scheduled visit to India next week, The Hindu has reported.
Waltz was expected to be in New Delhi from April 21 to 23 for a series of official engagements, including an address at the annual U.S.-India Forum, organized by the Ananta Centre in partnership with India바카라™s Ministry of External Affairs.
According to the report, Waltz바카라™s office informed both the MEA and Indian NSA Ajit Doval바카라™s office a few days ago about the decision to defer the visit. During his time in Delhi, he had been slated to hold several high-level meetings and was also expected to call on Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Apart from meeting NSA Doval and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Waltz was expected to attend a preliminary meeting of the Transforming Relations Utilising Strategic Technologies (TRUST) mechanism, the successor to the Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technologies (iCET) mechanism that the government had launched with the Biden administration in 2023.
Waltz was also due to be a speaker at the U.S.-India Forum, a conference held every year behind closed doors.
