Vance Makes A Sales Pitch for America

During his visit to India, US Vice President JD Vance has been a powerful voice advocating for closer India-US ties.

Vice President JD Vance바카라s first public speech in India is a ringing endorsement of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his policies. Saying he is jealous of the PM바카라s approval ratings and showering him with effusive praise, Vance launched a powerful sales pitch for American products ranging from oil, ethanol, military hardware, to civilian nuclear reactors, that has become possible after India changed the liability laws which had earlier prevented American companies from building nuclear plants in India.

Though the civil nuclear agreement was signed in 2006, largely due to US president George Bush바카라s efforts, American companies could not benefit from it because of New Delhi바카라s tough stand on liability. That has now been reversed. The idea behind the civilian nuclear pact was to build up India to counter China바카라s growing military and economic might in Asia. That effort continues as US-China rivalry intensifies and the US establishment, both Republican and Democrat, wants India as a bulwark against a rising China ready to take on US supremacy in the world.

바카라Vance is a powerful voice, also on foreign policy, in the Trump administration. He has an India connection to which he is demonstratively attached, as shown by his children wearing Indian attire and his publicised visit to Akshardham temple,바카라 says former Foreign Secretary Kanwal Sibal. He adds, that 바카라India and the US made it an official visit, giving it higher political profile. This made a substantive review of the relationship following Modi바카라s visit to the US in February possible. This very early visit by the Vice President sends a wider geopolitical message too.바카라

Vance projected the India-US partnership as vital for the future saying, 바카라If India and US fail to work together, the 21st century could be a dark time for the world.바카라 Vance indirectly took on 바카라other countries바카라바카라 (read: European powers) saying there was a kind of flatness there in contrast to the vitality and vibrancy of India. He said people of India 바카라will not be held back바카라바카라 and together Indians and Americans can 바카라build a bright new world.바카라바카라

He spoke briefly about his past, growing up in Middletown where factories were forced to close one-by-one as manufacturing came to a halt. He again did not call out China, though it is well known that Trump and his MAGA supporters believe manufacturing was taken over by China, leaving the American working class jobless.

Vance was upbeat on the trade negotiations and said he and Prime Minister Modi finalised the terms of reference on the trade deal during his meeting at the PM바카라s home on Monday evening. The first tranche of the bilateral trade pact is to be ready by autumn. During Prime Minister Modi바카라s visit to the US in February, he and President Trump had decided to set the ambitious target of increasing bilateral trade to $500 billion by 2030.

India could be one of the first few countries with which the US will lock up a trade deal. This is due to the early start the Modi government had made. New Delhi had played its cards well with the Trump administration and understood the President better than many of America바카라s closest allies. Modi was one of the first few world leaders to arrive in Washington even before Trump had completed a month into his second term in office. Trump바카라s trade war is aimed not just at getting a better deal for the US but to also challenge China바카라s position as the manufacturing hub of the world.

Yet on the same day (April 21/Monday) Jamieson Greer, the US Trade Representative, while saying the two sides had finalised the terms of reference to lay the groundwork for negotiation added 바카라there is a serious lack of reciprocity in the trade relationship with India,바카라 but 바카라India바카라s constructive engagement so far has been welcomed and I look forward to creating new opportunities for workers, farmers, and entrepreneurs in both countries.바카라

Vice President Vance highlighting the deepening strategic ties between India and the US spoke of both countries바카라 interest in maintaining a free, open, peaceful, and prosperous Indo-Pacific. India will be hosting the quad summit where leaders of the US, Australia, and Japan will attend. Trump is expected in India around October-November. The date has not been finalised.

바카라JD Vance바카라s visit coming so soon after Trump바카라s second term is important as it helps to build our equities with the administration. JD Vance is an important member of the Trump ecosystem and one who articulates and propagates Trumpism both inside the country and abroad바카라바카라 says Harsh Shringla, former Foreign Secretary and Ambassador to the US. 바카라

Trumpism will continue in the US after Trump and will be promoted by Vance, Trump Jr., and other younger leaders. That he chose India is a good sign and speaks for the progress in ties with the US,바카라바카라 he adds.

Vance is now a leading member of the MAGA movement and popular with his base because of his fiery attacks on those opposed to Trumpism.

As the BBC바카라s digital editor, Mike Wending, points out, Vance is able to join the dots between American workers, global elites and the role of the US in the wider world. He speaks well and can articulate Trump바카라s vision simply and clearly. He did just that while speaking at the Rajasthan International Centre in Jaipur, on the second day of his India trip.

바카라The Vance visit is high on symbolism. It's like his recent visit to Italy, building on a partnership with new dimensions, and hopefully smoothening the way forward. The fact that he chose India to visit makes it important,바카라바카라 says Ambassador Gurjit Singh.
