After Google, Apple, Amazon Remove Microblogging Site Parler From Their Platforms

Move comes after reports emerged claiming that many supporters of Donald Trump were shifting base to Parler after Twitter suspended Trump바카라s account

In an unprecedented move, tech giant Apple announced that it has removed US-based microblogging platform Parler from its Play Store. Apple made the announcement after reports emerged claiming that a large chunk of Donald Trump바카라s supporters are shifting to Parler after Twitter permanently suspended Trump바카라s account. Read here.

"After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account and the context around them 바카라 specifically how they are being received and interpreted on and off Twitter 바카라 we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence," Twitter said in a statement on Friday.

The move by Apple comes after the company warned Parler, saying it has received numerous complaints over objectionable content in its services, accusations that the Parler app was used to plan, coordinate and facilitate illegal activities in Washington DC on January 6 that led (among other things) to loss of life, numerous injuries and the destruction of property.

바카라We have always supported diverse points of view being represented on the App Store, but there is no place on our platform for threats of violence and illegal activity,바카라 Apple said in a statement to The Hill newspaper.

"Parler has not taken adequate measures to address the proliferation of these threats to people바카라s safety. We have suspended Parler from the App Store until they resolve these issues,바카라 Apple was quoted as saying.

Parler has a significant user base of Trump supporters and conservatives.

Meanwhile, Amazon also suspended Parler from its Amazon Web Services (AWS), which comes into effect from Sunday. 바카라Recently, we바카라ve seen a steady increase in this violent content on your website, all of which violates our terms. It바카라s clear that Parler does not have an effective process to comply with the AWS terms of service,바카라 AWS Trust and Safety team told Parler Chief Policy Officer Amy Peikoff in an email as reported by Buzzfeed.

바카라[W]e cannot provide services to a customer that is unable to effectively identify and remove content that encourages or incites violence against others. Because Parler cannot comply with our terms of service and poses a very real risk to public safety, we plan to suspend Parler바카라s account effective Sunday, January 10th, at 11:59 PM PST,바카라 the email read.

The move by the companies came after Twitter permanently suspended Trump's account due to "risk of further incitement of violence". A day earlier, Google banned Parler from its Play Store.

바카라In order to protect user safety on Google Play, our longstanding policies require that apps displaying user-generated content have moderation policies and enforcement that removes egregious content like spots that incite violence. All developers agree to these terms and we have reminded Parler of this clear policy in recent months,바카라 Google said in a statement.

바카라We recognise that there can be reasonable debate about content policies and that it can be difficult for apps to immediately remove all violative content, but for us to distribute an app through Google Play, we do require that apps implement robust moderation for egregious content. In light of this ongoing and urgent public safety threat, we are suspending the app from the Play Store until it addresses these issues,바카라 Google had said.
