Anita Jha: The Marathon Queen

Anita Jha, 55, started running about a decade back and over the past nine years, she바카라™s completed 45 half marathons, two 12-hour runs, four six-hour runs, and four half hill marathons

Till 2015, Anita Jha, 55, a homemaker in Ahmedabad, hadn바카라™t run long distances, let alone a marathon. But inspired by her friend, she gave it a shot. It wasn바카라™t easy at first. Women hardly ran in the city, and it made her uncomfortable: 바카라śWhat will people think?바카라ť But as she practiced, she found a new body, a new mind: 바카라śI don바카라™t care what anyone thinks, I want to run 바카라” I will run.바카라ť She reserved those hours for her 바카라śself talk바카라ť: motivating herself, thinking of ways to improve, looking forward to the next event. Her identity, too, changed and soared. While running, she was no longer a mother and a wife but Anita, just Anita, a woman beating the turf, creating symphony with her feet.

She바카라™s continued to run over the last nine years바카라”45 half marathons, two 12-hour runs, four six-hour runs, and four half hill marathons바카라”winning close to a dozen prizes. 바카라śI started feeling confident and optimistic in every field,바카라ť she said. 바카라śMy excitement shot to a new level.바카라ť And as it so often happens, once empowered, she empowered others. She became part of Pinkathon and, as her own initiative, counselled house wives, helping them improve their health, lose weight. In time, sports companies contacted her, inviting her as an ambassador to give talks. Growing up, she was shy. But now she has 바카라śno stage fear바카라ť 바카라”or any fear at all.
