Delhi To See Rain Amid Cold Weather, Flight Operations Normal As Fog Persists

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted light to moderate rainfall at isolated locations in Delhi, as well as in areas such as Yamunanagar, Kurukshetra, Karnal, Panipat, and Rewari in Haryana, and Bawal, Gangoh, Shamli, and Kandhla in Uttar Pradesh in the next few hours. Additionally, reports also highlighted that flight operations at Indira Gandhi International Airport remained unaffected on Monday morning, despite dense fog covering the national capital. The weather department has forecasted a cloudy sky with light rain throughout the day.

Light to moderate rainfall, along with possible lightning, is expected at isolated spots across Delhi (including Narela, Bawana, Kanjhawala, and Jafarpur), Bahadurgarh, Gannaur, Mattanhail, Jhajjar, Farukhnagar, and Kosali in Haryana, as well as Baraut and Baghpat in Uttar Pradesh, the IMD stated.

Despite the fog, flight operations at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport remained normal, with runway visibility between 1,000 and 2,000 meters. Low visibility procedures were in effect, as general visibility was recorded at 600 meters. Satellite imagery revealed fog over northwest and central India, with clouds forming over parts of Haryana, Delhi, and Uttar Pradesh, indicating a possibility of rain.

At 5:30 am on Monday, the national capital recorded a minimum temperature of 11.4°C, a slight rise from 9.4°C the previous day, likely due to the cloud cover.

A day before, Delhi's maximum temperature was recorded at 18.6°C, slightly below the normal average, while the minimum temperature was 9.4°C.

The air quality in Delhi remained in the 'very poor' category, with an AQI of 317, according to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB). The AQI scale ranges from 'good' (0-50) to 'severe' (401-500). Following a decrease in pollution levels, the Centre바카라™s air quality panel announced the rollback of Stage 3 restrictions under the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) on Sunday. However, Stage 1 and Stage 2 restrictions will remain in place, including measures like a ban on non-essential construction and demolition activities and the use of non-clean fuels in industries.
