Jammu and Kashmir politicians have weighed in on pros and cons of going to the Supreme Court to seek the restoration of statehood, after the Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah, has been saying that the dual control has been hitting governance in the Union Territory.

Former Chief Minister and National Conference (NC) President, Farooq Abdullah, Saturday said that the party would move the Supreme Court for seeking the statehood, if it was delayed.

NC chief spokesperson, Tanvir Sadiq, while reacting over reports of condition of holding fresh elections for the restoration of statehood said that there was an unanimity across the political spectrum on the restoration of statehood. 바카라œ I say this with utmost responsibility while the opposition and we may often be at odds, take jabs at one another, and remain politically competitive, I firmly believe that when it comes to the question of statehood, there is absolute unanimity. Whether it바카라™s BJP, PDP, PC, or any other party, all agree that statehood is our legitimate right and must be restored without any further delay,바카라 NC leader said.

바카라œSo, the real question is who is creating this atmosphere of confusion? The answer is clear: it is those who benefit from the dual power structure, those who thrive in the shadows of uncertainty and chaos. These are the very elements who deliberately float such misleading narratives not just to undermine the sentiments of the people, but also to cast aspersions on the Supreme Court, the Prime Minister, the Home Minister, and the sanctity of Parliament itself where it was promised. One needs to understand they are doing this solely to create confusion. But remember, if they are not faithful to the leadership of this country and the promises made, how can they ever be the well wishers of Jammu and Kashmir?바카라

On the threat by Farooq Abdullah to approach the Supreme Court in case the statehood restoration would get delayed, People바카라™s Conference President, Sajad Lone, said that going to the Supreme Court may end the statehood dreams in the near future.

바카라œWe all rushed to Supreme Court. The court endorsed the Union government version and literally closed the legal doors on 370 for all times to come. Alongside Article 370 came up the issue of statehood. The Supreme Court set a date for elections, but was non-committal in statehood.바카라

바카라œIn the statehood petition, there was one important factor. And that was whether the act of relegating a state to UT by the Union government was legal or illegal. A ruling on this question would have set a legal precedent for all other states. If the Supreme Court had ruled that the act of relegating a state to UT was legal, that would have been a big challenge to federalism in India. Any Union government could have, at whim, relegated any state partly or fully to a UT without any justification. Had the Supreme Court ruled that the relegation was illegal, we would have automatically gotten our statehood back. The Supreme Court simply decided not to answer the question, thereby evading a challenge to federalism, saving other states from the sword of relegation. And Kashmir. Well Kashmir continues to be a UT,바카라 he said.

바카라œSo now Farooq sahib and CM sahib want to go to court. I suspect another fixed match. Supreme Court has not delivered in the past. Why on earth would it deliver now. Is it yet another trap to end the statehood dreams in the near future through legal intervention. Forget the history. Going to Supreme Court in the aftermath of war, fought in J&K does not make sense,바카라 he added.

Earlier while upholding the decision of Central government to abrogate the Article 370, Supreme Court had directed that the statehood should be restored at the earliest in Jammu and Kashmir.

On the contrary, People바카라™s Democratic Party (PDP) said that the Jammu and Kashmir government lead by chief minister, Omar Abdullah, should apprise the people what has been the response of the Government of India (GoI) on the restoration of statehood. 바카라œ It was on the assurance of the Central government that the statehood would be restored to Jammu and Kashmir that the Supreme Court issued the directions on the restoration.바카라

He said that the 바카라œ National Conference is only doing lip service on the issue. The NC should have sat on a protest on the issue.바카라

Congress spokesperson, Ravinder Sharma, said that the party had believed earlier that the statehood should be restored before the elections are held in Jammu and Kashmir, but the Central government has been denying the people their 바카라œ due rights.바카라 바카라œ We are fighting and protesting for the restoration of statehood, and the other parties that are serious about the issue should intensify the fight.바카라
