KSCA Secretary, Treasurer Resign Citing 바카라˜Moral Responsibility바카라™ For Bengaluru Stampede

The Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) secretary A Shankar and treasurer E Jairam resigned from their respective posts, citing moral responsibility for the stampede during RCB바카라™s title celebration that claimed 11 lives. The two notified their decision in a joint press statement Saturday claiming to have submitted their resignations on Thursday night. 

The statement read that 바카라œdue to the unforeseen and unfortunate events that have unfolded in the last two days, and though our role was very limited, we wish to state that we have tendered our resignation to our respective posts as the Secretary and Treasurer of the Karnataka State Cricket Association."

The officials along with KSCA president Raghuram Bhat had notified the Karnataka High Court that the responsibility for the gate and crowd management did not rest with the association and they had also requested permission to hold the title celebrations at Vidhan Sabha. They claimed that the ticketing and crowd management came under the purview of RCB and local law enforcement.

The High Court had taken a suo motu cognisance of the issue directing the KSCA to submit a status report pertaining to the matter by June 10. The KSCA officials were also granted interim protection from arrest provided they fully cooperate with the ongoing investigation. 

The Karnataka police had earlier arrested four individuals in relation to the incident on Friday  including Nikhil Sosale, head of marketing at RCB, and three representatives of DNA Entertainment Private Limited, Sunil Mathew, Sumanth, and Kiran Kumar. They were later sent to 14-day judicial custody. 

The stampede occurred on June 4 in front of the Chinnaswamy stadium, where a large number of people thronged to participate in the RCB team's IPL victory celebrations. They had gathered following an initiation by the RCB team on social media which was later deleted. Eleven people died and 56 were injured in the incident.
