Hashim Musa, one of the prime suspects in the Pahalgam terror attack, which left 26 people dead, mostly tourists, was identified as a former Pakistani Special Service Group (SSG) Commando by investigators, as per the reports.
According to the reports, Hashim Musa was dismissed from the Pakistan Army force, after which he joined the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).

He joined terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) after being dismissed from the Pakistan Army, The New Indian Express reported.
According to The New Indian Express, Musa바카라s identity was revealed by one of the 14 Kashmiri Over Ground Workers (OGW). These 14 OGWs were interrogated by the investigators on suspicion of their connection with the Pahalgam terror attack.
Sources revealed that Hashim Musa is a former regular of the Pakistan Army바카라s Para Forces. A Para Commando is skilled in covert operations, physical and mental endurance, strategic combat techniques, and survival skills. They are also adept at using advanced weaponry and hand-to-hand fighting. So, it's assumed that Hashim Musa is capable of all these, as he was a trained para commando.
The New Indian Express reported that Hashim Musa was dismissed from the Pakistan Army force, after which he joined the banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT).
A source in the security establishment suspects that the Pakistan Army바카라s SSG group may have asked Musa to join the LeT group to strengthen their terror operations in Kashmir.
It is assumed that Musa infiltrated India in September 2023. His area of terror operation is based in Budgam district in Kashmir, near Srinagar.
The sources in the security establishment said that Pakistan Army and ISI are involved in the terror attack as the similar patterns in executing the terror attacks were observed in October 2024 attacks in the valley, where a doctor, two Indian army personnel and 6 non-locals and two Army Porters were killed. Sources confirmed Musa바카라s involvement in the 2024 attacks.
On April 22, a deadly terror attack took place in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam, killing 26 people, mostly tourists, including one local pony guide. In the aftermath of the terror attack, India has suspended the Indus Water treaty and also suspended the visas of Pakistani Nationals.
