A letter from the Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) prior to the June 4 RCB felicitation event at Vidhana Soudha raised several concerns, including the need for anti-drone systems and additional preparation time. The letter cited the risk of drone cameras being used by the public and reiterated that more time was required to organise such a large-scale event at a "vital installation" and heritage site. It concluded that the police would follow the government's final decision on the matter.
The event in question was part of a two-part felicitation ceremony for the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), held at Vidhana Soudha and later at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium.
According to reports, there was poor coordination between the police, the state government, the Karnataka State Cricket Association, and agencies representing RCB. This led to the gathering of massive crowds around the two venues.
On the morning of June 4, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah바카라™s political secretary, K Govindaraj, facilitated a meeting between the CM, RCB officials, and the Karnataka State Cricket Association.
While it remains unclear who authorised the use of Vidhana Soudha바카라™s grand steps for the event, the Chief Minister바카라™s official X account announced the programme at 1 pm the same day.
RCB바카라™s official social media handles had begun promoting a victory parade from Vidhana Soudha to Chinnaswamy Stadium from as early as 7 am on June 4, indicating that free passes would be issued for the event.
Earlier, Bengaluru Police Commissioner B Dayananda had reportedly refused permission for the event.
