Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday paid tribute to the CRPF personnel who lost their lives in a terror attack on their convoy in Pulwama on February 14Â in 2019.

He tweeted, "Remembering our valorous heroes who we lost on this day in Pulwama. We will never forget their supreme sacrifice. Their courage motivates us to build a strong and developed India."

Over 40 soldiers lost their lives after a suicide vehicle-borne suicide bomber rammed into the CRPF convoy at Lethpora on the Jammu바카라“Srinagar National Highway in Pulwama district.  The responsibility for the attack was claimed by the Pakistan-based Islamist terrorist[7] group, Jaish-e-Mohammed. In a retaliatory attack, the Indian Air Force targeted terror camps in Balakot in Pakistan.
The convoy had left Jammu around 03:30 IST and was carrying a large number of personnel due to the highway having been shut down two days prior. The convoy was scheduled to reach its destination before sunset.
Along with the 40 security personnel, the perpetrator, Adil Ahmad Dar also lost his life during the attack.Â
