YouTuber had been facing restrictions after multiple FIRs were filed over remarks made during an online show.
The Supreme Court on Monday allowed YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps, to retrieve his passport, clearing the way for him to travel abroad for professional commitments. The decision comes after authorities in Assam and Maharashtra informed the Court that investigations into the case against him had been completed.
Allahbadia had been booked following remarks made during an appearance on comedian Samay Raina바카라™s YouTube show, which triggered multiple FIRs alleging offensive content related to parents and sex. The controversy drew action from police agencies across states, and Allahbadia was summoned for questioning by the Guwahati Police.
A bench of Justices Surya Kant and N Kotiswar Singh directed Allahbadia to approach the Maharashtra Cyber Police Bureau for the formal return of his passport. The Court also said it would consider his request to consolidate the various FIRs against him at the next hearing.
Earlier, on February 18, the Supreme Court had granted interim protection from arrest to Allahbadia, observing that his comments were "vulgar" and "put society to shame." As part of the conditions for bail, the Court had directed him to deposit his passport with the investigating officer.
Subsequently, on March 3, the Court permitted Allahbadia to resume his podcast, "The Ranveer Show," but with strict guidelines requiring that the content maintain "morality and decency" suitable for audiences of all ages.
Allahbadia is one of several content creators named in the case, alongside comedians Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The legal proceedings against the group remain ongoing
