Two security personnel were injured when an improvised explosive device (IED) detonated, and another jawan was hurt after stepping on a spike trap during an anti-Naxal operation in Chhattisgarh's Bijapur district on Tuesday, police reported.
The incidents took place in a forest along the border of Bijapur and Dantewada districts, where a joint security force team, including the District Reserve Guard (DRG) and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), was conducting the operation, a senior police official said.
According to preliminary reports, two jawans accidentally triggered the pressure-activated IED, while the third personnel stepped on a spike trap set by Naxalites. The injured were given first aid and airlifted to Raipur for further treatment.
