Australia were all out on 440 in their first innings with Beth Mooney scoring a century as Sophie Ecclestone took a five-wicket haul. However, things took a drastic turn for the visitors as their batters failed to put up a fight at the MCG.

Fighting against the dominant Aussie bowlers, the likes of Heather Knight and co, failed with the bat as Alana King walked away with 9 wickets in the match.

Despite a late fightback from the lower-order, England's batting collapsed as Australia took the Ashes 16-0, and leave their opponents searching for answers.
