ICC To Amend Two-ball Rule In ODIs As New Playing Conditions Set To Kick In: Reports

In a major significant move from International Cricket Council (ICC), the apex body will be reportedly enforcing updated playing conditions in the world of cricket from June 2025. While the new rules will come in to play from June, it will be from July onwards that the revamped playing conditions will be used in all international white-ball games.

The ICC will bring a host of changes, one significant being introducing usage of one ball per innings in 50-over format, replacing the current one wherein two balls are used from both ends.

The current scenario sees two balls being used at the start of the innings till the 34th over, however with the rule change, sides will be allowed only one, with the option of selecting one of the balls, from the 35th over.

바카라�A replacement ball at any time during the innings will be one of similar conditions to the ball that needs to be replaced. Note that the ball not used for overs 35 to 50 in the match will be added to the replacement ball supply,바카라� said the ICC.

바카라�There will be two new balls for overs 1 to 34. After over 34 is completed and prior to the start of over 35, the fielding team will choose one of the two balls to be used for overs 35 to 50. The chosen ball will be used at both ends for the remainder of the match (unless it needs to be changed). ICC Proposes Concussion Sub Rule Change

Other change brought in by the ICC will the concussion substitution rule. As per the new rule, five concussion subs will be used - one wicketkeeper, one batter, one seam bowler, one spinner, and one all-rounder.

The new playing conditions will be used in the next WTC cycle after the final match between Australia and South Africa.
