Jasprit Bumrah continued to show why he is the most valuable cricketer in the world at the moment as he picked up another five-wicket haul during the India vs England 1st Test going on at Headingley, Leeds. India eked out a six-run lead in the first innings thanks to a spectacular bowling performance from Bumrah even as other Indian bowlers lacked control. The great Sachin Tendulkar too noted Bumrah's brilliance and said that instead of a five-wicket haul, the India pace spearhead could have ended up with a nine-wicket haul.

England looked set to overtake India's first innings score before Bumrah's brilliance stopped them six runs short on the third day of the opening Test of the series.

Hailing the Indian pacer for his outstanding performance in a post on X (formerly Twitter), Tendulkar wrote, 바카라Congratulations Bumrah! A no-ball and 3 missed chances stood between you and 𝙣𝙖𝙪 (9) wickets.바카라

Bumrah got the wicket of Harry Brook on a no ball and three catches were put down off his bowling. Despite this, the pacer finished with 5/83 in 24.4 overs and proved once again how he remains peerless across formats.

This was Bumrah's 12th five-wicket haul away from home, the joint-most for an Indian bowler alongside the great Kapil Dev. He also overtook the legendary Wasim Akram as the Asian bowler with most wickets in SENA (South Africa, England, New Zealand, Australia) countries.

India vs England 1st Test Day 3

KL Rahul drove his way to a sublime 47 after England negated India's advantage by totalling 465 in their first innings as the visitors had another ordinary day in the field on day three of the first Test in Leeds on Sunday.

India dropped as many as five catches and barring Jasprit Bumrah, the effort from the pacers left a lot to be desired, allowing England to even out the game after the Shubman Gill-led side posted 471 in its first essay.
