바카라India-Pakistan has a long history. It바카라s an exciting contest when both these teams play. Everyone enjoys watching it. If so many people are happy to watch the match, who are we to say that it is under-hyped or over-hyped? We go there to play cricket,바카라 said Shubman Gill. 바카라I think it is a big match, but I think the biggest match would obviously be the final that the team plays,바카라 he said.
Expect warm weather start in the India vs Pakistan clash with the temperature dropping as the game goes on. Evenings will probably be cooler, with expected temperature at 27 degrees Celsius.
Yes, it바카라s the Champions Trophy--where there바카라s no room for errors or mistakes. Unfortunately for Pakistan, they've made plenty, finding themselves at the bottom of Group A with a negative NRR of -1.2, trailing even Bangladesh. A win for India today would all but virtually eliminate the hosts from the tournament, as table-toppers New Zealand are expected to overcome Bangladesh in their next game.
Pakistan suffered a 60-run defeat to New Zealand in their opening match, and now have only two group stage games - vs India today and vs Bangaldesh on February 27th.
India enter this match with momentum, having secured a six-wicket win over Bangladesh in their opening game.
As of February 23, 2025, India and Pakistan have faced each other in 135 One Day Internationals (ODIs) matches. out of these games, Pakistan hold the supremacy record with 73 victories, while India have secured 57 wins; 5 matches ended without a result.
However, cricket is all about current form, and in recent meetings, India have dominated their arch-rivals, winning each of the last five encounters.
Given, the recent stats the prediction is lleaning towards an Indian victory in the match against Pakistan.
In the ICC Champions Trophy, India and Pakistan have faced off five times, with Pakistan holding a 3-2 advantage. Their most iconic clash came in the 2017 final, where the Sarfaraz Ahmed-led side stunned India to lift their first-ever Champions Trophy title--a moment that still lingers in the minds of cricket fans.
In that final at The Oval, Pakistan, the lowest-ranked team in the tournament, defied expectations by posting a commanding 338/4, powered by Fakhar Zaman's blistering 114 off 106 balls. India's chase never took off as Mohammad Amir tore through their top order, paving the way for a thumping 180-run victory. Now, as the arch-rivals meet again in the 2025 edition, India have a chance to settle the score--this is the 2017 revenge that all are talking about.
Pakistan captain Mohammad Rizwan won the toss and opts to bat first!
At the toss the PAK captain said, "Will bat first, looks like a good surface. Want to put up a good target. Every match is important in ICC events, we will keep things normal. The boys are familiar with these conditions, we have done well here and we want to do our best today. We lost our last game, but it is past for us now. One change - Fakhar is out, Imam is in."
India: Rohit Sharma(c), Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Shreyas Iyer, Axar Patel, KL Rahul(w), Hardik Pandya, Ravindra Jadeja, Harshit Rana, Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav
Pakistan: Imam-ul-Haq, Babar Azam, Saud Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan(w/c), Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Khushdil Shah, Shaheen Afridi, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Abrar Ahmed
After the toss, Sharma said, "Doesn't really matter, they won the toss so we'll bowl first. Looks similar to the last game, the surface is on the slower side. We have an experienced unit in batting so we know what we need to do if the pitches get slower. Need an overall performance from the team - with bat and ball. The last game wasn't an easy one for us, which is always nice. You want to be under pressure and test yourself. We are playing the same team."
Goosebumps, are you feeling it?
India and Pakistan stand on the field as the national anthems fill the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. The energy is electric, and the intensity of this fierce rivalry is about to unfold. The BIG game is just moments away!
Today, losing the toss to Pakistan marks India's 12th toss loss in a row, starting from the finals of the 2023 World Cup.
As a matter of fact, this marks the longest toss-losing streak for any team in ODI history.
India's Mohammad Shami starts off, and Imam defends it towards covers. Imam and Babar Azam are at the crease, with Imam on strike to start Pakistan's innings. The hot Dubai Stadium is really loud, almost packed!

PAK: 6/0 (1.1)
It was supposed to be Pakistan's home match, but due to tensions along the borders, the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 clash between India and Pakistan is being held at a neutral venue. The stadium is divided, half in blue and half in green, with the blue side often getting louder, rallying behind the Men in Blue.
As for the scores, Babar smashed his first boundary and is currently on 6 off 10 balls, while Imam is also at 6 off 11.
PAK: 18/0 (3.3)
Back in 2017, India won the toss and opted to bowl first, sending Pakistan in to bat. Azhar Ali and Fakhar Zaman opened the innings, and to everyone바카라s surprise, both played pivotal knocks, scoring 59 and 114 runs respectively. Jasprit Bumrah바카라s run-out of Azhar was a moment, but it didn바카라t quite derail Pakistan바카라s progress.
Fast forward to today, Bumrah is absent, but we have Shami, who delivered a match-winning fifer in the opener against Bangladesh. While we don바카라t have Azhar and Fakhar, Pakistan still has the formidable Babar and Imam at the crease, making a solid start. The question remains--can they carry the same momentum and create a similar fate? The drama is just unfolding! Let바카라s see what happens!
Mohammed Shami is off the field after experiencing pain in his ankle. The physio is currently assessing him. India will hope it's nothing serious, as Shami had been creating pressure with his bowling.
Babar Azam (10 off 14) and Imam-ul-Haq (9 off 22) continue to build a steady start for Pakistan. Shami and Rana have bowled tightly, but the partnership remains unbroken. Despite a few nervy moments, the openers are looking to settle in and capitalize on the early overs.
PAK: 26/0 (6.2)
Good News! Shami is alright and back to the field now.
Hardik Pandya strikes as Babar Azam's solid start comes to an end! He edges a slightly back-of-a-length delivery outside off to KL Rahul, who takes a sharp catch low to his right.
Pakistan's captain departs for 23 off 26 balls, with the partnership broken at 41. Imam-ul-Haq remains steady on 10.
PAK: 41/1 (8.2)
Pakistan's top-order falters again! Imam-ul-Haq is run out by Axar Patel off Kuldeep Yadav's delivery for 10, leaving Pakistan at 47/2 in 9.2 overs.
The captain Mohammad Rizwan comes to the crease now.
Don't know about the later part, but for now it is nothing like what happened in 2017! Here, Pakistan are in trouble after early wickets. Imam-ul-Haq (10) was run out by Axar Patel, and Babar Azam (23) was caught off Hardik Pandya. Now, it's Mohammad Rizwan (4) and Saud Shakeel (3) at the crease, with Pakistan at 52/2 after 10.1 overs.
PAK: 52/2 (10.1)
After 14 overs, Pakistan are at 61/2 with Mohammad Rizwan on 7 off 13 balls and Saud Shakeel on 8 off 19. Shami has been impressive in his second spell, bowling with more pace and consistency, having figures of 5-0-18-0. Overall, the Indian bowlers are applying pressure, keeping the Pakistan batting in check as the required run rate climbs.
PAK: 61/2 (14)
This contest is going to be the real test for Pakistan. With a CRR of 4.42, the high number of dot balls indicates they바카라re playing more like a Test match. The hosts will need to pick up the pace soon! Mohammad Rizwan is on 9 and Saud Shakeel at 16.
PAK: 71/2 (16.5)
With almost 80 dot balls in the first 20 overs, Pakistan find themselves struggling at 79/2.
Mohammad Rizwan is on 13, while Saud Shakeel, on 20, has managed to hit one boundary each.
Pakistan somehow have managed to break the boundary drought! Saud Shakeel hit a much-needed four off Kuldeep Yadav, sending the ball past backward square leg to the fence. This came after a series of dot balls, with Pakistan now at 103/2 in 25.3 overs. Shakeel is on 34, and Rizwan is at 24, still looking to accelerate in the middle overs.
Pakistan have been cautious in their approach, with both batters focused on building their partnership. No wickets have fallen recently, but the scoring rate remains steady at 4.4 runs per over.
Meanwhile, Saud Shakeel manages half century (50 off 63 balls) including four boundaries.
PAK: 136/2 (30.5)
The duo brings up a gritty 100-run partnership.
Saud Shakeel, leading the charge with a well-crafted half-century, has been the anchor, while Rizwan looks set to follow suit.
Pakistan, now 148/2 in 32.5 overs, have built a solid base.
Just when Pakistan looked set to build on their solid stand, Axar Patel breaks through! Rizwan, who was growing in confidence, steps out to take on the left-arm spinner but gets completely beaten by a well-disguised delivery that sneaks through and rattles the stumps. Rizwan departs for for 46 off 77 balls.
Salman Ali Agha now joins Shakeel on the crease.

Earlier, Hardik Pandya sent back Saud Shakeel for a well-made 62, caught by Axar in the deep. From 140/2 to 165/5바카라India firmly on top!
Kuldeep Yadav raps Khushdil Shah on the pads as he attempts a reverse sweep, prompting a loud appeal. The umpire says not out, but Rohit Sharma, after some deliberation, takes the review at the last moment! Replays show the ball was sliding down leg, and India lose their review.
A close call, but Khushdil survives to fight on!
Khushdil Shah 9*(13), Salman Agha 16*(19)
PAK: 185/5 (40.3)
Wickets!
Kuldeep Yadav is on fire! Two wickets in two balls for the left-arm spinner. He traps Shaheen Afridi lbw for a golden duck! Shaheen reviewed it, but it was plumb in front.
Earlier in the over, Salman Agha (19 off 24) tried to go big but only managed a leading edge, safely taken by Ravindra Jadeja at point.
PAK: 200/7 (42.5)
At the crease now are Khushdil Shah (21 off 22) and Naseem Shah (5 off 6), looking to add crucial runs in the final overs and Pakistan are 206/7 after 44 overs, as they struggle to push past the 250-run mark.
Harshit Rana returned to the attack and conceded just 6 runs in the 44th over.
Haris Rauf joins the onslaught! After Khushdil Shah's powerful pull for six, Rauf smashes Shami over long-on for another maximum.
Pakistan are pushing for a strong finish, reaching 240/8 in 48.4 overs.
Can they reach 250?
Harshit Rana Finishes It Off!
Virat Kohli takes a sharp catch at deep mid-wicket to dismiss Khushdil Shah, sealing Pakistan바카라s innings at 241 in 49.4 overs.
Harshit Rana cleverly deceived Khushdil with a slower delivery, forcing a mistimed slog straight into Kohli바카라s safe hands.
It was Kohli's 158th catch in ODI, most by an Indian.
India now have a target of 242 to chase under the Dubai lights!
PAK: 241 (49.4) - Innings Break!
Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill take centre stage as India begin their chase under the Dubai lights!
Shaheen Afridi starts with a fiery yorker, but Rohit is watchful. A wide follows, and India are off the mark.
IND: 1/0 (0.1)
And Rohit Sharma takes charge!
After a quiet start, the Indian skipper shifts gears in style. He first edges a boundary over slip before pulling a short delivery from Naseem Shah into the second tier beyond deep backward square leg for a massive six! and then another boundary. Gill, too, finds his touch, punching a full delivery from Shaheen Afridi through cover point.
India off to a solid start in their chase of 242.
IND: 26/0 (3.5)
Just when we got our Sharma back in form, he falls as Shaheen Afridi strikes! After being driven for a boundary on the previous delivery, he responds with an absolute peach--a full, fast inswinging yorker that sneaks through Rohit Sharma바카라s defense and rattles the middle stump. The Indian captain departs for 20 off 15 balls, including three fours and a six.
Now the maestro Virat Kohli arrives. Touchwood! India will hope for a classic Kohli chase from here.
IND: 31/1 (5.0)
Shubman Gill is timing the ball beautifully, with some elegant strokes. He just punched a glorious extra-cover drive off Shaheen for four, followed by a delightful straight drive that had the crowd buzzing.

India now need just 74 runs to seal the win.
IND: 168/2 (31)
The King is in his element! Virat Kohli, calm and composed, is steering India towards a comfortable victory in Dubai. He has anchored the chase with a well-crafted 81 off 91 balls. His running between the wickets has been sharp, and he has rotated the strike smartly, ensuring Pakistan never gets a sniff. Shreyas Iyer too is in form currently on 49 off 60.
IND: 200/2 (36)
Shreyas Iyer perishes soon after his half-century, and Hardik Pandya walks in. The all-rounder dances down the track twice to unsettle Shaheen Shah Afridi early in his innings, but the left-arm seamer has the last laugh as he gets Pandya to nick a bouncer behind to Rizwan. Kohli continues unfazed, meanwhile, edging ever so close to his 51st century but fighting a challenging battle with the runs remaining in the chase.
IND 225/4 (41)
What a legend, what a chase master. Two runs needed to win and four for his ton, Virat Kohli nonchalantly advances and carves Khushdil Shah through extra cover for a boundary to bring up his 51st ODI century. IND 244/4 (42.3 overs) beat PAK 241 all out by six wickets
Here's what Virat Kohli, who is expectedly named the Player of the Match for his majestic unbeaten century, told Ian Bishop after the game:
"It feels good to bat in that manner in an important game, where a spot for semis was there to be taken, after Rohit fell. My job was clear - to control the middle overs, not take risks against spinners and take on pacers. I was happy with the template, it's how I play in ODIs.
"I have a decent understanding of my game. It's about keeping the outside noise away, take care of my energy levels and thoughts. It's easy for me to get pulled into expectations and frenzy around games like these. I kept telling myself I'll give my 100% while fielding. It's why I take pride in it. When you put your head down and go about your work, things work out.
"Clarity is important, when there is pace on the ball you have to get scoring. Shubman (Gill) and Shreyas (Iyer) have been excellent. Everyone's got a decent knock in these conditions, that'll augur well in the coming matches. At 36, a week off is very good. It takes a lot out of me to put in that much effort."
Rohit Sharma: "We started superbly with the ball. We knew the wicket could get slower but backed our experienced batters to go out there and get 240. Credit goes to Kuldeep, Axar, Jadeja al who have played a lot.
"Rizwan and Saud stitched a good stand, was important not to let the game drift. Not to forget how Shami, Hardik, Harshit bowled as well. It was a good performance from the entire unit. Boys understand what kind of job is required out of them. It's tricky at times because not all will get a bowl.
"I try to figure out who's creating the most problems to the batters and make decisions. Virat loves representing the country, doing what he does the best, which is what he did today. People sitting inside the dressing room aren't surprised with what he did.
"(My) hamstring's okay at the moment."
Mohammad Rizwan: "We won the toss but didn't get the benefit. We wanted to get 280 but their bowlers did really well in the middle overs.
"When Saud and I were batting, we wanted to go deep. But our shot selection was bad and lost wickets, which is why we were kept to 240.
"Abrar gave us the wicket, but Kohli and Gill took the game far from us. We must improve our fielding. We made a lot of mistakes this match, they've repeated, hope to work on them going forward."
India now have a weeklong break, after which they will take on New Zealand on March 2 for their last Group A match of the tournament. But before that, a win for the Kiwis against Bangladesh will seal both India and New Zealand's passage to the last four. As for co-hosts Pakistan, their fate rests with the Bangla Tigers - a loss for Najmul Hossain Shanto's men will knock both Pakistan and Bangladesh out of Champions Trophy 2025.
