Almost two months and 70 matches later, the league stage of the Indian Premier League is now over. Punjab Kings (PBKS), Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Gujarat Titans (GT) and Mumbai Indians (MI) are the four teams left in fray for the IPL 2025 title.

RCB seal top two

Jitesh Sharma slammed a stunning half-century to help RCB scale their highest-ever IPL run chase as they forced LSG to surrender despite the Rishabh Pant-led side scoring 227 runs. Jitesh scored 85 not out off just 33 balls to help RCB win by six wickets and seal a top two spot. This win now confirms the play-off match-ups for IPL 2025.

Punjab Kings have topped the IPL 2025 table while RCB have finished second just by the virtue net run rate. Gujarat Titans, who led the table for almost the entire season, have to end up with the third spot while Mumbai Indians finish fourth.

Pant finds form

Rishabh Pant finally found his rhythm and even though his innings did not result in a win for LSG. He was going through a wretched run of form throughout this season before today where he silenced his critics with his second IPL century. Pant slammed 118 not out off 61 balls with 11 fours and eight sixes. He also celebrated his ton with a somersault. This hundred will give Pant a world of confidence ahead of an important tour to England for India.

Ponting downplays PBKS dream run

PBKS coach Ricky Ponting said that his team has not achieved anything yet despite sealing a top two finish with a thuumpign win over a formidable MI side on Monday.
