Pant, the LSG captain, continued with his horrible form as he was dismissed for only seven off six deliveries in Lucknow Super Giants' must-win match against SunRisers Hyderabad on Monday.
He managed to hit a boundary on the fifth ball he faced to raise expectations of his fans that the wicket-keeper batter might have returned to form. However, he lobbed the very next ball back to the bowler Eshan Malinga who completed a fabulous caught and bowled.
Pant is having his worst IPL season since his debut in the competition in 2016. The left-hander has only been able to score 135 runs from 11 innings in IPL 2025. He has tried batting as an opener, at one down, in the middle order, in the lower order but nothing seems to be bringing him back into form.
This has left his fans frustrated and the LSG owner too has been left disappointed with this performance. LSG had put faith in Pant by making him the costliest signing in IPL history ahead of this season. LSG signed Pant at a massive cost of Rs 27 crore but so far the deal has not given the value the think-tank would have hoped for.
Goenka just walked back from the balcony after seeing Pant getting dismissed for a low score again. The video has gone viral on social media with jokes and memes flying all around.
