Punjab Kings registered their second win of the season when they defeated hosts Lucknow Super Giants by eight wickets at the Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium, Lucknow, in match 13 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday. Shreyas Iyer won the toss and invited Super Giants to bat first on a tricky pitch in Lucknow. The Kiwi seamer, Lockie Ferguson, made his debut for the Punjab Kings.

Arshdeep Singh took no time to get the first breakthrough and dismissed the opener batter Mitch Marsh in the first over. He failed to score any runs.

Aiden Markram tried to break the shackles and was looking in fine touch before Ferguson bowled him in the fourth over. LSG captain Rishabh Pant also followed him in the next over. He made just two runs.

Nicholas Pooran spent some time at the crease and made a crucial 44 runs. Ayush Badoni also made 41 runs off 33 balls, including three sixes.

David Miller tried to accelerate the run-rate but failed. Abdul Samad played a quick cameo of 27 runs off just 12 balls, which helped LSG set a target of 172 runs.

Arshdeep Singh took three wickets, whereas Glenn Maxwell, Ferguson, Marco Jansen and Yuzvendra Chahal took one wicket each.

In response, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh gave a flying start, but Arya lost his wicket early. Then, Singh added 84 runs for the second wicket with the captain Iyer.

Singh played a big knock of 69 runs off just 34 balls, which included nine fours and three sixes. Digvesh Rathi dismissed him in the 11th over.
