A match-winning century from Kusal Perera, followed up with decent spells from Wanindu Hasaranga and Charith Asalanka took Sri Lanka over the line to a seven-run win over New Zealand, in the third and final T20I at the Saxton Oval in Nelson on Thursday, January 2. Defending a massive 219, the tourists held New Zealand to 211 in their 20 overs, with Hasaranga and Asalanka taking five wickets between them. A three-match ODI series follows, starting January 5.
