Bangladesh got off to a strong start in the first Test against Sri Lanka thanks to centuries from Najmul Hossain Shanto and Mushfiqur Rahim.

The tourists ended the first day on 292-3 in Galle after surviving an early collapse.

Sri Lanka debutant Tharindu Rathnayake removed Shadman Islam (14) and Mominul Haque (29) inside the first 17 overs, while Asitha Fernando took the wicket of Anamul Haque (0).

Despite falling to 45-3, captain Shanto and former skipper Mushfiqur swung the game in Bangladesh바카라™s favour with superb knocks, scoring 136 and 105 not out respectively.

Their unbeaten partnership of 247 frustrated Sri Lanka, who lost two reviews throughout the day.

Rathnayake ended with figures of 2-124 from 32 overs, but Bangladesh are firmly in the driving seat heading into day two.
