Both Warriorz and Giants have won two games and lost three so far. The team that loses today will put itself in a tough position to qualify for the play-offs. Remember, Delhi Capitals have already booked one of the three play-off spots. So, it just two more positions left with four teams in contention.
UP Warriorz captain Deepti Sharma won the toss and opted to bowl first in the Women's Premier League match 15 against Gujarat Giants at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow.

First over and Henry strikes! D Hemalatha had to depart in the very first over. Full from Henry and swinging away. All Hemalatha can manage on her drive is an outside edge. Brilliant start for UPW at home. Harleen Deol now joins Beth Mooney.
A little move on from Gujarat Giants after a slow start. A boundary to finish the third over and then 11 runs from the fourth. For the first time in the game, the run rate crosses six. GG would want a solid partnership here. Deol and Mooney have a lot riding on their shoulders.
A decent powerplay for both the sides. UP Warriorz bowlers have not let GG batters score much but GG would be happy that they have not lost any further wicket after Hemalatha. GG have scored 40 and a good partnership has been built up between Mooney and Deol. The duo would want to switch gears now.
After five overs, GG were 30/1 and in the last four overs, they have 43 runs without losing any wicket. This is some really good acceleration post the powerplay. The partnership between Mooney and Deol is now 70 in exactly eight overs. Both of them looking really good and UPW need to break this partnership quickly now.
Gujarat Giants cross 100 and so does the partnership between Mooney and Deol. Mooney has completed her half-century as well. 37 balls is what she takes and so far she has hit nine fours. Deol too is cruising towards her fifty. UP Warriorz desperately need to get one of these.
This has been a total masterclass from Beth Mooney tonight. She is batting on 85 off 54. Not much should be stopping from her from becoming the first centurion of the season. Meanwhile, Harleen Deol departed in the 13th over just five runs away from her fifty. Ashleigh Gardner giving Mooney company now.
Beth Mooney remains stranded on 96 and Gujarat Giants get to 186. She looked all set to get the first century in the history of WPL but unfortunately did not get much strike towards the end. In fact, she faces just four balls out of the last three overs. And in those three overs, GG score 29 runs. A little underwhelming. A 190+ total always looked on card but they remain just a few runs short.
UP Warriorz need 187 runs to win!

What a start for Deandra Dottin and what a start for Gujarat Giants. Dottin sends back Kiran Navgire on the very first ball of the chase and then , after three balls, strikes again to clean up Georgia Voll. UPW under massive pressure right from the word go.
It is all going downhill for UP Warriorz. Vrinda Dinesh too joins her teammates in the pavillion. Kashvee Gautam continues her fine form with her first wicket of the night. UPW in all sorts of trouble. They really need something never seen before to come back into the game.
Gujarat Giants would not be wrong if they feel that they have sealed two points within this powerplay. What a bowling performance. Kiran Navgire 0, Georgia Voll 0, Vrinda Dinesh 1, Deepti Sharma 6, these are the scores of four batters who have been dismissed. Grace Harris has been the only saving grace so far with 18 off 16.
Things have gone from bad to worse for the hosts. They lose both, Shweta Sehrawat and Grace Harris post the powerplay to find themselves six down at the halfway mark of their innings. It's been a sterling all-round bowling effort from the Giants so far, with five different bowlers among the wickets already. The situation is beyond salvageable now for the Warriorz, who would be looking to minimize the damage to their net run rate.
Chinelle Henry did try to counter attack but her stay too ends. 28 for Henry off just 14 balls but that would not do much else than shrinking the win margin by just a tiny bit. Gujarat Giants would want to make it a really big win. They would try to take home two points and a massive net run rate boost.
Kashvee Gautam misses hat-trick! She has bowled so well throughout this tournament and a hat-trick would have made it an even memorable night for her but it was not to be. She got Uma Chetry and Gouher Sultana on back-to-back balls but Kranti Goud denied her three in three. Anyways, GG now are a wicket away from a totally one-sided win.
Gujarat Giants beat UP Warriorz by 81 runs!
As clinical a performance as you would have seen in the WPL. Total domination. UPW won the toss and took the first wicket and the opening over of the game. This was the last thing that went their way. Beth Mooney and Harleen Deol then combined for century stand for the second wicket. Deol fell before her half-century but Mooney kept going and raised the highest WPL score ever. Her 96* took GG to 186/5. In front of the big target, UPW totally collapsed and were bowled out for 105 with Kashvee Gautam and Tanuja Kanwar picking three wickets each.
The win helps Gujarat Giants rise up the second spot. They now have three wins and three losses and are level on points with Mumbai Indians who have a game in hand. UP Warriorz are now at the last spot with two wins in six games and a very poor net run rate. Their qualification hopes may be as good as over.
As expected, Beth Mooney is the Player of the Match. 58 balls, 96 unbeaten runs. A match-winning effort from the Australian.
