Here is how Fluminense and Borussia Dortmund line up ahead of kick-off at the MetLife Stadium:
The game will kick-off at 9:30pm IST. The Fluminense vs Borussia Dortmund, FIFA Club World Cup 2025 match will be live streamed for free on the DAZN platform in India. It will not be telecast on any TV channel in the country.
Play gets underway in New Jersey. Dortmund attacking from right to left and Fluminense from left to right in the first half. We have an early yellow card in the game as Borussia's Algerian defender Ramy Bensebaini is booked for a foul in the second minute.
Fluminense are retaining their defensive structure nicely against Borussia Dortmund, not ceding space for the German club's forwards. That's leading to what some might call 'boring' football, but it's working well for the Brazilian side so far.
Dortmund's star striker Serhou Guirassy gets injured in the 23rd minute and play stops for a bit. He is back on his foot soon enough, thankfully, and play resumes.
Dortmund goalkeeper Gregor Kobel thwarts Jhon Arias's shot on goal. Play now opening up with chances at both ends. Half-time nearing, meanwhile.
The referee brings the first half to an end after three minutes of added time and we are yet to witness an opening goal in the contest. Fluminense have, without doubt, been the better side on display so far but we all know Dortmund have the firepower to turn the game around at any point.
The players are back after the mid-game break. Dortmund now attacking from left to right and Fluminense from right to left. Niko Kovac might have had a thing or two to say to his players during the interval. Let's see how the German club performs in the second half.
Dortmund goalie Gregor Kobel collides with Everaldo early in the second half and goes down. He stays down for quite some time and the physio checks up on him carefully. Looks like Kobel is fine to continue and play resumes.
It's time now for Fluminense goalkeeper Fabio to pull out a save that denies Marcel Sabitzer in the 64th minute. The Austrian midfielder is fed by Julian Ryerson and his shot from outside the box is headed for the bottom left corner, but Fabio keeps it out.
Excellent saves from Kobel now! The two goalies are keeping their respective sides in the game and the match goalless. The Dortmund custodian first denies Everaldo from distance, then dives instinctively to pull off a fabulous reaction save off the rebound.
Fluminense midfielder Nonato is shown the yellow card for a dodgy foul in the 81st minute. Play is meandering along now, with the minutes ticking by and a goal yet to come.
The regulation 90 minutes are done and dusted. Six minutes added as stoppage time. Will we see something exciting in the dying moments?
And that's that. The referee blows the full-time whistle, and the group F opener ends goalless in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Goalkeepers Gregor Kobel and Fabio were the only players to truly shine in what turned out to be a relatively drab draw.
