Foden latched on to Wydad AC custodian El Mehdi Benabid's weak parry, putting the Cityzens in the lead early in the Group G encounter.

City are opening their campaign with this game, and so are Wydad AC. The four-member group also features Italian powerhouses Juventus and United Arab Emirates outfit Al Ain. The two teams will lock horns on Thursday (June 19) at 6:30am IST.

Foden later played his part in City's second goal too. He delivered a well-directed cross which was met by Jeremy Doku at the Wydad goalmouth, as Pep Guardiola's men doubled their advantage in the 42nd minute.
