Voting Process For IOC Presidential Elections
There are 109 members present in the IOC. A candidate needs an absolute majority, i.e. more than 50% votes, to win the elections. If such a candidate does not emerge after a round of voting, the candidate with the least number of votes is eliminated. The voting then continues till a candidate with an absolute majority emerges.

Juan Antonio Samaranch remains the favourite to become the 10th IOC president. However, media reports fall short of predicting a winner as they have termed it the most open IOC elections ever. Sebastian Coe and Kirsty Coventry are expected to give a tough fight to Samaranch.
