The Minnesota Lynx have made an unbeaten start to the WNBA season, but coach Cheryl Reeve is still expecting more from her team.
Their 86-75 victory over the Golden State Valkyries on Sunday extended their record to 7-0, with Napheesa Collier sparking the win.
She compiled 24 points and 11 rebounds, with Courtney Williams chipping in with 20 points, and Kayla McBride adding a further 16.
However, they had to do it the hard way to continue their winning streak, as the Valkyries held a 52-51 lead at half-time thanks to Kyara Linskens, who scored all 14 of her points in the second quarter.
A strong finish in the fourth quarter stretched their lead, but Reeve was unimpressed by what she saw in the early stages of the game and highlighted the importance of finding some consistency.
"That's the thing with expectations. We know we're capable of more, even more, and we know we need to do more," Reeve said.
"The goals are high. We don't want to be pedestrian in anything that we do, but there are times in games where, not intentionally, but we don't recognize how hard it is to win a possession in this league, and what it takes.
"So, being a little more consistent in that mindset is what we're looking for. When we do that, we're able to play off our defense, and we're a good team, so that's what we're striving for, and that's what the players want too."
The Lynx, who sit top of the Western Conference, face second-place Phoenix Mercury next on Tuesday, looking to extend their perfect start.
