In a closely contested match, Uruguay lost 1-0 to Brazil in the opening game of the final hexagonal round of the South American U20 Championship. Despite playing with ten men from the 57th minute, Brazil secured victory with a critical goal from Pedrinho in the 74th minute, leaving Uruguay without answers. Right from the start, Brazil commanded possession and dictated the pace of the game. Key players Pedrinho and Rayan stood out as Brazil pressed into Uruguayan territory. Rayan nearly scored in the 16th minute with a powerful shot that struck the post. Just two minutes later, Gustavo Prado had a close opportunity, sending a shot narrowly wide of the Uruguayan goal.
