The 129th edition of this Grand Slam features Swiatek as the three-time defending champion with a dominant 32-1 record at Roland Garros in recent years. However, she arrives in a slump, ranked No. 5 and without a final since last year.
Sabalenka, the current World No. 1, leads the tour with 34 wins this season but has yet to reach a Roland Garros final, her best showing a 2023 semifinal loss to Muchova.
