India-Pakistan Agree To Ceasefire: Kareena Kapoor Khan, Varun Dhawan, Raveena Tandon And Others React To The Announcement

Foreign secretary Vikram Misri, in a special media briefing on Saturday, (May 10) confirmed that India had agreed to a ceasefire with Pakistan. Misri said that Director General of Military Operations (DGMO) Pakistan called their India counterpart and both countries agreed to stop all firings and military action on land, in the air and sea with effect from 5 PM onwards on Saturday.

Following this, Bollywood celebs took to social media to share their views on India-Pakistan ceasefire. Raveena Tandon, Kareena Kapoor Khan, Shekhar Kapur, Parineeti Chopra, and Swara Bhasker among others, welcomed this decision of the government. Have a look at their reactions here.

Celebs reactions to India Pakistan ceasefire

Raveena Tandon wrote on Instagram, "If this is true, then it's a welcome decision. #ceasefire". and added, "But make no mistake, the day India bleeds again #statesponsoredterrorism it will be an act of war and then there will be hell to pay.The #IMF had better keep track of where their money goes, the big powers may have sanctioned this loans to get their earlier loans paid back or so that there is more ammunition bought or whatever. But now AND never should Bharat Bleed Again."

Kareena Kapoor wrote, "Rab Rakha. Jai Hind". Parineeti Chopra wrote, "Om Namah Shivaay."

Filmmaker Shekhar Kapur wrote on X, "Ceasefire declared today, disengagement started at 5pm. Hopefully all those that support terrorism against India now realise our leadership will not hold back in taking strict and appropriate action. Now India can go on with what is most needed. The development goals of our Nation."

Taking to her Instagram Stories, actress Malaika Arora shared US Secretary of State Marco Rubio's tweet on how India and Pakistan struck a ceasefire deal, and wrote, "Thank God".

Swara Bhasker shared US President Donald Trump's post on the truce and expressed happiness over the ceasefire. Karan Johar reacted with folded hands and yellow heart emojis.

Some of the other Bollywood stars who welcomed the move with joy, include Ananya Panday, Varun Dhawan, Ishaan Khatter, Huma Qureshi, Hina Khan, and Ibrahim Ali Khan.

Vikram Misri, on India-Pakistan ceasefire stated, "Pakistan's Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) called Indian DGMO at 15:35 hours earlier this afternoon. It was agreed between them that both sides would stop all firing and military action on land and in the air and sea with effect from 1700 hours Indian Standard Time. Today, instructions have been given on both sides to give effect to this understanding."

He also added that India, Pakistan DGMOs are set to speak again on May 12 at 1200 hours.
