Death of Former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was among the passengers aboard the Air India aircraft that crashed in Ahmedabad on June 12, has been confirmed through DNA matching, a senior state official said on Sunday.

바카라The DNA sample of former Gujarat chief minister Vijay Rupani matched with that of his family members today morning at 11.10 a.m.,바카라 said Minister of State for Home Harsh Sanghvi. Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel met the family members and informed them of the development, State Health Minister Rushikesh Patel said.

Rupani was among the 241 passengers and crew members who died when the London-bound Air India Flight AI171, a Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, crashed shortly after take-off from Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport. The aircraft came down within the premises of B.J. Medical College and Civil Hospital, striking a building that housed resident doctors.

Casualties As Of Now

According to PTI, at least 270 bodies have been recovered from the crash site. These include victims from the aircraft as well as individuals on the ground. Of the total, 241 are believed to be passengers and crew, and 29 were individuals present in the affected buildings, including five MBBS students. One passenger, a 40-year-old British national, survived the crash.

As of Sunday, 31 victims have been identified through DNA profiling, and 12 families have claimed the remains, officials said. Dr. Rajnish Patel, professor of surgery at B.J. Medical College, stated that the identification process is ongoing. A total of 230 coordination teams have been deployed to assist families of the deceased.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) is leading the probe into the incident, with technical support from teams from the United States and the United Kingdom. A black box was recovered from the wreckage on June 13 and has been sent for analysis.

According to data from Flightradar24, the aircraft was 11 years old and had conducted 25 flights between Ahmedabad and London Gatwick in the past two years. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has ordered precautionary inspections of Air India바카라s Boeing 787-8 and 787-9 fleet.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited the crash site on Friday and later met the sole survivor at the hospital. Air India CEO Campbell Wilson also visited the site, describing the situation as 바카라deeply moving바카라.

Compensation announcement

Two days after the tragic accident involving Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner, the Tata Group, which owns the airline, said Rs 1 crore compensation to people who died on the ground as well. This came after their initial compensation announcement of Rs 1 crore to the families of the crash victims. Air India has also decided to make an additional interim payment of Rs 25 lakh to the families of those who died, and to the lone survivor of the crash, the airline바카라s CEO Campbell Wilson said in a statement on Saturday.

High Level Investigation

A high-level committee set up to investigate the fatal Air India flight crash is expected to hold its first meeting on Monday. The panel, led by Union Home Secretary, has been tasked with submitting its report within three months, outlining the causes behind the crash that claimed the lives of 241 passengers and several others on the ground, Civil Aviation Minister K. Ram Mohan Naidu said during a press briefing.
