Gogoi Slams Assam CM Sarma Over 바카라˜Pakistani Links바카라™ Remark, Questions His Mental State

The Congress MP criticized Sarma for claiming that he has Pakistani links and asked whether the CM was under mental stress due to issues on the home front as Assam heads to elections next year, PTI reported.

The opposition Congress party on Sunday said that the personal attacks by Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma on Congress' Deputy Leader in Lok Sabha Gaurav Gogoi are "worse than atrocious". Additionally, they are meant to divert attention from the Bharatiya Janata Party leader's "monumental corruption and misdeeds".

The Congress MP criticized Sarma for claiming that he has Pakistani links and asked whether the CM was under mental stress due to issues on the home front as Assam heads to elections next year.

Gogoi on X said "99% of what the Chief Minister has been saying is nonsense. He should put out the facts in public domain and stop hiding behind an imaginary September deadline. I doubt if even in September the Chief Minister can put out any concrete facts."

What did Sarma say?

While speaking to reporters at an official event, Sarma alleged that Gogoi did not travel to Pakistan for tourism but to get trained under the direct invitation of Pakistan바카라™s Home Department.

바카라œGaurav Gogoi had gone to Pakistan on invitation of ISI. For the first time, I want to say that he went to Pakistan at the invitation of ISI. We have that document. He went there to receive training.바카라

"Gaurav Gogoi went there after receiving the letter from the Pakistan Home Department. He went there following the invitation of the Pakistan government. Not External Affairs, Cultural Ministry, he went there at the invitation of the Pakistan Home Department," ANI quoted Sarma saying.

The CM added that the this is a serious matter and more considerable action will be taken, adding that it is "dangerous" that Gogoi's visit was sanctioned specifically by the Home Department, as per media reports.

Congress general secretary and member of Rajya Sabha Jairam Ramesh also slammed Sarma for his allegations.

"The personal attacks on my colleague Gaurav Gogoi being continued by the Assam CM are worse than atrocious. Mr HBS is simply unable to come to grips with the fact that a year back the people of Jorhat voted resoundingly in favour of Gaurav Gogoi and totally rejected the campaign managed by the Assam CM and his colleagues," he said.

"These attacks are also meant to divert attention away from the Assam CM's own monumental corruption and misdeeds. He knows well that he is the outgoing CM of Assam and hence his increasing desperation," Ramesh added.

Gogoi on the other hand said that Sarma, "For some reason best known to him I have been on his radar since my entry into Assam. He has made many baseless remarks about me in the past 13 years. The most recent one borders on insanity and the absurd."

"It is often said that when there is something bothering at home, it reflects in the mental state of the person. We will ensure that after 2026 he gets some rest," Gogoi said.
