PM Modi US Visit LIVE: PM Meets Elon Musk; Heavy Trade Talks Expected In Meeting With Trump

• PM Modi met US National Security Advisor Michael Waltz on Thursday.  The meeting with Waltz was his first engagement of the day.

• After meeting with Waltz, Modi held a meeting with Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk. Musk arrived at Blair House with his three young children, who were sitting with Musk when he met Modi.

• A meeting with US President Donald Trump is scheduled to take place later today where a wide array of bilateral issues are expected to be discussed with a special focus on trade tariffs.

• Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day working visit to the US starting Wednesday. He is scheduled to have a bilateral meeting with President Donald Trump.

• A range of bilateral issues are expected to be on the table besides discussions on regional and international situations.

• This is Modi's first visit since the inauguration of the second presidential term of Trump on January 20.

• Modi will also interact with Elon Musk, Vivek Ramaswamy, business leaders, and members of the Indian community in the US.

Modi's bilateral meeting with Trump is expected to focus on key topics such as trade, investment, technology, defense cooperation, counterterrorism, Indo-Pacific security, and people-to-people relations. The two leaders are also likely to address the situation in Bangladesh, along with other regional and global issues.

India's Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri during a press briefing last week said that the prime minister's visit to the US at the invitation of President Trump, weeks after his inauguration, shows the "importance of India-US partnership and is also reflective of the bipartisan support that this partnership enjoys in the US."

Modi is staying at the Blair House, the US presidential guest house at the heart of the American capital city.

As Prime Minister Modi reached Blair House, the President바카라�s Guest House, he was accorded a rousing welcome by members of the Indian-American diaspora.

The prime minister will be hosted by the US President on Thursday in what would be the first bilateral talks between the two leaders after Trump assumed the presidency for a second term last month.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will arrive in Washington later this evening for a meeting with President Donald Trump. The trip comes at a time when the government has received much flak for the video of chained and shackled illegal Indian migrants being sent back on a military aircraft. Many Indians are angry that the Modi government was not able to ensure that its nationals were sent back with dignity.   

Modi바카라�s visit on Wednesday will set the tone for relations between the two countries for the next four years. Though there was much bonhomie between the two leaders during Trump바카라�s first term, the situation now is a little different with the US President sending out signals that a strong America will now call the shots.

With the bilateral talks and more on the agenda, the prime minister has met with Trump's director of National Intelligence (DNI) Tulsi Gabbard.

As per the statement from the Ministry of External Affairs, Modi and Gabbard discussed the strong friendship between the US and India.

As per Modi, Gabbard has been a "strong votary" of the ties between India-US friendship.

As per MEA, the discussions between Modi and Gabbard also focused on "enhancing intelligence cooperation in counter-terrorism, cybersecurity and emerging threats."

Right ahead of the much-awaited bilateral meeting with PM Narendra Modi, US President Donald Trump's cryptic post on reciprocal tariffs set off fresh speculations.

As discussions on tariffs are expected to be on the table during his meeting with PM Modi, Trump wrote in his post wrote, "THREE GREAT WEEKS, PERHAPS THE BEST EVER, BUT TODAY IS THE BIG ONE: RECIPROCAL TARIFFS!!! MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN!!!"

PM Modi's high-profile meetings in the United States will include talks with National Security Adviser Michael Waltz, followed by Elon Musk, who spearheads the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

Modi is also scheduled to meet Vivek Ramaswamy, who ran for the White House.

Musk will be meeting Modi for the first time after cancelling his visit to India last year. Starlink's plans to start satellite broadband services in India and setting up a Tesla factory could be the topics up for discussion.

Braving freezing temperatures and rain, the Indian diaspora members gathered at Blair House and welcomed him with slogans of 'Bharat Mata ki Jai', 'Vande Mataram', and 바카라�Modi Modi바카라� as they waved the Indian and American flags.
