The Andhra Pradesh state election commissioner (SEC) Nimmagadda Ramesh바카라s decision to defer the local body elections by six weeks to prevent the spread of coronavirus has sparked a major controversy in the state. And none less than chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy has alleged that the SEC seems to be reading a script written by someone else.
The SEC decision has, indeed, spoiled the party of the ruling YSRCP, which had bagged 151 out of 175 assembly seats in the 2019 polls. Even in the Lok Sabha polls, Jagan바카라s party had won 22 out the 25, decimating rival TDP. It has also successfully dissolved the legislative council, where the TDP had an upper hand. As if this was not enough, a massive exodus of leaders and workers from TDP to YSRCP also left opposition leader Nara Chandrababu Naidu with a mountain to climb. With the YSRCP on a 바카라kill mode바카라, it was expected to sweep the local body polls too.

YSRCP has also knocked the doors of the apex court for justice.
But the poll postponement has come as blessing for opposition parties, who were complaining of a reign of terror unleashed by the ruling party to scare their candidates from filing even nomination papers. The BJP and Pawan Kalyan바카라s Jana Sena too have welcomed the SEC바카라s decision. Senior TDP leader and Y. Ramakrishnudu says that had the virus not bailed them out, the ruling party바카라s 바카라fascist governance바카라 would have gone unchecked. 바카라Many of our candidates were not allowed to file their nominations,바카라 alleged Pawan Kalyan, who also terms Jagan바카라s rule as 바카라goonda raj바카라.
Blaming election officials is not a new thing in state politics. Even former chief minister Chandrababu Naidu had created a similar controversy ahead of the 2019 general elections.
