Malik Tillman scored two goals as the United States built a three-goal lead in the first half and ended a four-game losing streak by defeating Trinidad and Tobago 5-0 in their Concacaf Gold Cup opener on Sunday. Tillman found the net in the 16th and 41st minutes, marking his first two international goals, both capitalising on mistakes made by Alvin Jones. Patrick Agyemang added his fourth international goal in the 44th minute. In the second half, Brenden Aaronson scored his ninth goal in the 82nd minute, followed by Haji Wright, who netted his fifth just 1 minute and 13 seconds later. The 16th-ranked Americans overwhelmed the No. 100 Soca Warriors, putting an end to their longest losing streak since 2007.
