India spin legend Ravichandran Ashwin was anger personified after a contentious dismissal during the Tamil Nadu Premier League in Coimbatore on Sunday (June 8, 2025). The Dindigul Dragons captain was adjudged leg before wicket in the first innings off a Sai Kishore delivery and was livid with the decision, remonstrating with the umpire, though to no avail. Tiruppur Tamizhans ended up winning the match by nine wickets.

Ashwin, who came out to open for the Dragons was struck on his pads in the fifth over and the umpire soon raised her finger. The former India off-spinner could not believe it and began arguing with the umpire. 바카라Ashwin is saying 바카라he has bowled this from over the stumps, ma바카라am바카라, suggesting that it was pitched well outside leg stump,바카라 one of the on-air commentators said as the incident unfolded.

Unfortunately for Ashwin, the Dragons had expended both their reviews in the first over in the hope of overturning a wide call from the umpire. Hence, he could not go for DRS and had no choice but to walk back to the dugout. The 38-year-old made no bones about his disappointment and smashed his bat onto his bat in frustration on his way back. You can watch the full video of the incident below:

As for the game itself, Dindigul were bundled out for 93 runs in 16.2 overs, with medium pacer and Player of the Match Esakkimuthu A returning figures of 4/26 in four overs. While Ashwin scored 18 runs off 11 balls, hitting two fours and a six along the way, Shivam was the Dragons' top-scorer with a 27-ball 30.

In reply, the Tamizhans chased down the paltry target in a mere 11.5 overs, losing just the wicket of opener Amit Sathvik in the process. Wicketkeeper-batter Tushar Raheja smashed an unbeaten 65 off 39 balls, while Sundararaman Radhakrishnan was not out on 14 off 21 deliveries. The Dragons are now fifth in the standings with two points from two games, and the Tamizhans are second with a much superior net run rate (0.971 as against Dragons' -1.017).
