Sachin Tendulkar and Sourav Ganguly combined for many memorable partnerships for India and on the first day of the first India-England Test, the legendary duo came together on X (formerly Twitter) to do a nice little banter. India reached 359/3 on the opening day of the first Test with captain Shubman Gill and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal scoring centuries.

Tendulkar, who just got his name in the trophy for the India vs England Test series, reminisced about a Test match at the same venue in 2002 when India had found three centurions. With India already having two centurions in the innings, the legend wondered if India can repeat the performance by getting another centurion.

In the Headingley Test match of 2002 which India won, Tendulkar got 193 while Ganguly scored 128 and Rahul Dravid 148.

바카라œA solid foundation laid by @klrahul and @ybj_19 enabled India to have a good day," Tendulkar wrote on X. 바카라œCongratulations to Yashasvi and @ShubmanGill for their brilliant centuries. @RishabhPant17바카라™s contribution was equally important for the team. India바카라™s batting today reminded me of the Headingley Test in 2002, when Rahul, @SGanguly99, and I scored hundreds in the first innings, and we went on to win the Test. Today, Yashasvi and Shubman have done their part. Who will be the third centurion this time?" he added.

Quoting the post, Ganguly said this time not three but four centurions could emerge as the pitch was good for batting.

바카라œHi, Champ바카라¦this time it could be 4..on this good surface바카라¦Pant and maybe Karun..the surface on day 1 in 2002..was a bit different than this," said Ganguly in his post.

Tendulkar responded to Ganguly with a fingers-crossed emoji.

India vs England 1st Test Day 1

England won the toss and opted to bowl first but India openers put up a resolute 92-run stand. While KL Rahul and Sai Sudharsan fell in quick succession at the stroke of Lunch, Jaiswal went on to score 101. Captain Gill too scored a century and was batting on 127 at the end of the day with his deputy Rishabh Pant batting on 65.
