Hello and welcome to the live coverage of the Nepal vs Netherlands T20I which is the second match of the tri-series also involving hosts Scotland.
Netherlands come into this clash on the back of a 39-run defeat in their opening game against Scotland. They will be eager to bounce back.
Chasing 161, Netherlands were bowled out for just 120. Scott Edwards would want his batters to be better tonight.
Match will start at 7:30 pm IST. Stay tuned for updates till then as we will have the toss in some time now.
Nepal head into the match buoyed by a recent 16-run win over the Netherlands in an ICC CWC League 2 clash.
Nepal have won the toss and decided to field first at the Titwood in Glasgow, Scotland.
Netherlands Playing XI: Michael Levitt, Max ODowd, Zach Lion Cachet, Scott Edwards(w/c), Teja Nidamanuru, Noah Croes, Vikramjit Singh, Saqib Zulfiqar, Kyle Klein, Ben Fletcher, Daniel Doram
Nepal Playing XI: Kushal Bhurtel, Lokesh Bam(w), Anil Sah, Rohit Paudel(c), Dipendra Singh Airee, Kiran Thagunna, Karan KC, Rupesh Singh, Nandan Yadav, Sandeep Lamichhane, Lalit Rajbanshi
Michael Levitt and Max ODowd are out to bat for Netherlands. Nandan Yadav with the new white ball for Nepal. Here we go then!
Good start from Max O'Dowd and Michael Levitt. Nepal really need a wicket here. They have used three bowlers in the first three overs and all of them have conceded some runs. First two overs leaked 20 but Rupesh Singh, in the third, gave away just eight runs. Is a wicket coming now?
Lalit Rajbanshi now gets the ball.
A wicket from Lalit Rajbanshi in his very first over and Nepal have pulled things back after a quick start for Netherlands. Powerplay is over and despite scoring 20 off the first two overs, Netherlands have been stopped at 52 for the loss of Max O'Dowd.
Sandeep Lamichhane shows his standards. Comes into the attack and the leg-spinner straight away picks two wickets in his first over. Michael Levitt first and then the big wicket of the opposition captain Scott Edwards. Lamichhane shows why he is the only Nepal player to have played in the IPL. Terrific start from the leggie and Nepal are on top now.
What a spell so far from Sandeep Lamichhane. Three overs, 12 runs and a couple of wickets. He is making Netherlands batters sweat it out for every run. Vikramjit Singh is still there on 30 off 28 balls but he needs to get a move on now. Some big shots needed.
Half of the Dutch side is now back in the pavillion. Sandeep Lamichhane finishes with the figures of 4-0-18-3. A brilliant spell from the star leg-spinner. Nepal in control so far. Netherlands would want to get over 150 at least.
Saqib Zulfiqar hits 25 off 12 balls and Netherlands get to a decent total of 152. A good end for Netherlands as they get 50 off the last five overs.
NED 152/7 (20)
Nepal have started slow. The target is not big but it is still a decent one. Kyle Klein has bowled a good first over to Kushal Bhartel and just two runs come off it.
Nepal need 90 runs in 72 balls
Nepal are consistently losing wickets but they have maintained the run rate. Rohit Paudel is still at the crease and that is a big thing in the context of the game for Nepal. If Netherlands can get a wicket here, especially of Paudel, then the Dutch will feel they have sealed the game.
Nepal need 69 runs in 48 balls
The required run rate is now increasing. Rohit Paudel is doing well but his partner Karan Thaguana is putting pressure on Nepal. He has played 19 balls for just 12 runs. A really poor innings and this could lose Nepal the game tonight.
Nepal need 56 runs in 30 balls
The game is drifting away from Nepal now and Daniel Doram is the hero for Netherlands. What a spell he is delivering here. Three overs, just six runs and three wickets. Nepal in trouble now. Rohit Paudel needs to get them out of this muddle now. Can he do it?
Nepal need 16 runs in 6 balls
Rohit Paudel is gone! And that should be the end of Nepal's hopes. 48 off 35 from the Nepal captain and it was really looking like he will take his side over the victory line but Vikramjeet Singh finishes the penultimate over with wicket and now Netherlands would think they have sealed the game.
Scores tied!
What drama! Nepal needed 16 off the final over with Nandan Yadav and Sandeep Lamichhane at crease and somehow they have managed to level scores. Yadav needed five off the final ball to win the game but he could only get a four and it is a tie.
NED 152/7 (20)
NEP 152/8 (20)
Match tied. Super Over to follow...
Nepal have absolutely smashed the Super Over. Rohit Paudel got a single off the first ball and then Kushal Bhartel smashed Daniel Doram for 18 runs off the next four balls to take Nepal to 19. Doram got Bhartel out on the last over but Nepal would think they have enough to win this game.
NEP 19/1
Netherlands need 20 to win in Super Over.
It is going into another Super Over. Netherlands too have scored 19 in their six balls. Wow! This match just refuses to end.
Max O'Dowd smashed 10 off the last two balls and once again the scores are level.
Scott Edwards leads Netherlands from the front. He had two failures in this tri-series so far but in the Super Over, he just smashes Lalit Rajbanshi for 17 runs in the six balls he faces. Nepal now need 18 runs to win the second Super Over.
Second Super Over also tied!
Karan KC smashes six off the last ball of the second Super Over and it is yet another tie. What are we witnessing! Total chaos. The match just keeps dragging as both the teams refuse to give up.
We finally have a result. Netherlands have won the third Super Over and this time it was one-sided.
Lion-Cachet got the ball and he dismissed Paudel and Rupesh in just four balls without giving a single run. Netherlands then had to chase just one and Levitt smashed Lamichhane for a six first ball to break Nepal's heart. But what a match.
What a cracking game of cricket. Nepal and Netherlands had to play 20 overs each and then two Super Overs to finally find a winner. Nepal restricted Netherlands to 152 thanks to Sandeep Lamichhane's triple blows but they fumbled in the chase. Rohit Paudel batted well but Daniel Doram was too good with the ball as his three wickets applied the brakes on Nepal. Yet Nepal somehow managed to tie the scores. We had the first Super Over where both teams scored 19. Then in the second one both sides got 17. Finally in the third one Zach Lion-Cachet bowled Nepal's two batters out for none and Netherlands stole the victory.
