Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah has been fined 50 per cent of his match fee for breaching Level 2 of the ICC Code of Conduct during the first T20I against New Zealand in Christchurch on Sunday. The ICC confirmed the penalty in an official statement on Monday. (More Cricket News)
Khushdil was found guilty of violating Article 2.12 of the ICC Code of Conduct for Players and Player Support Personnel, which deals with inappropriate physical contact with another player, umpire, or official during an international match.
ICC Statement
"Pakistan all-rounder Khushdil Shah has been penalised 50% of his match fee for a Level 2 breach of the ICC Code of Conduct," the ICC said in a statement released on Monday.
The incident occurred in the eighth over of Pakistan바카라™s innings when Khushdil, while running between the wickets, made forceful and reckless physical contact with New Zealand bowler Zakary Foulkes. The contact was deemed negligent and avoidable by the match officials.
As a result, three demerit points have been added to Khushdil바카라™s disciplinary record. This was his first offence in the last 24 months. He accepted the sanction proposed by Jeff Crowe, the ICC Elite Panel Match Referee, avoiding a formal hearing.
The charge was laid by on-field umpires Wayne Knights and Sam Nogajski, along with third umpire Kim Cotton and fourth umpire Chris Brown.
