Royal Challengers Bengaluru released a statement mourning the loss of lives during the stampede that occurred near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium as celebrations turned into tragedy in the wake of the franchise's maiden Indian Premier League triumph.
The franchise along with the Karnataka State Cricket Association also announced Rs 5 lakh for the families who have lost their loved ones during the stampedes.
More than 10 people have reportedly died in the stampede that took place near the M Chinnaswamy Stadium inside which RCB team members were being felicitated. More than 30 people have also been reportedly injured in the stampede.
"We are deeply anguished by the unfortunate incidents that have come to light through media reports regarding public gatherings all over Bengaluru in anticipation of the team바카라™s arrival this afternoon," the statement from the franchise read.
"The safety and well-being of everyone is of utmost importance to us. RCB mourns the tragic loss of lives and extend our heartfelt condolences to the affected families. Immediately upon being made aware of the situation, we promptly amended our program, and followed, the guidance and advice of the local administration. We urge all our supporters to please stay safe", it concluded.
The franchise along with the Karnataka State Cricket Association announced Rs 5 lakh for the families who have lost their loved ones during the stampedes.
The situation for stampede arose after thousands and thousands of people flocked around the M Chinnaswamy Stadium to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars.
RCB had beaten Punjab Kings in the IPL 2025 final on Tuesday to win the trophy for the first time since the league's inception in 2008. The title win ended the wait of their star player Virat Kohli who remains the only player to have featured for only one team since the inaugural season.
