At least eleven people have died and thirty-three others have sustained injuries in a stampede near Bangalore바카라™s M. Chinnaswamy stadium as thousands of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) fans had gathered to celebrate their maiden victory in the Indian Premier League 2025.

According to reports, the injured are being treated at the Bowring Hospital and Vydehi Superspeciality Hospital on Vittal Mallya Road.

How did it happen?

Following RCB바카라™s triumph at Ahmedabad on June 3, the Karnataka State Cricket Association (KSCA) had organised a felicitation ceremony for the team inside the stadium.

A huge number of fans turned up to catch a glimpse of the team and the players, making the situation hostile. The police also had to resort to lathi-charge to maintain order.

Several roads were seen to be choked around the stadium leading up to the event.

CM Siddaramaiah, Chief Secretary Shalini Rajneesh and other officials met with top police officers, including DG and IGP M A Saleem, Bengaluru City Police Commissioner B Dayananda and Traffic Police Joint Commissioner M N Anucheth, earlier in the day to discuss the possibility of a victory parade.

Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivkumar claimed that, "Had arranged 5000 personnel. Cannot use lathi on young vibrant crowd," while addressing the stampede, as reported by NDTV.
