The upcoming India tour of England Test series 2025 will be played for the for the Tendulkar-Anderson Trophy, as per a report published in the BBC on Tuesday claimed.
The trophy will be unveiled ahead of the series, starting with the 1st Test, beginning on June 20 in Leeds.
Speaking of Tendulkar and Anderson, the batting maestro is the highest run-getter in the red-ball arena with 15,921 runs, appearing in 200 Tests for India between 1989 and 2013. As for Anderson, the Englishman has scalped 704 wickets and is the leading wicket-taker for his country.
India vs England earlier played for the Pataudi Trophy with Ben Stokes-led side claiming the honours after having drawn the series 2-2 in 2021 and 2022. However, the series played in India was named after administrator, Anthony de Mello.
As per the report in BBC, the England and Wales Cricket Board have declined to comment on the same.
