An enterprising United Arab Emirates team beat Qatar by a whopping 163 runs in match 6 of the ICC Women's T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier 2025 at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok on Saturday, May 10.

UAE first posted 192 runs on the board, thanks to an opening partnership between captain Esha Oza (113 off 55) and wicket-keeper Theertha Satish (74 off 42) amounting to the same number of runs. The team then decided to retire all 10 batters out, in a bid to push for victory with rain in the air.

They then dismissed Qatar for a measly 29 in 11.1 overs, not only making their outlandish tactic work but also claiming a huge net run rate boost in the process. Skipper Oza was named the Player of the Match for her quickfire century.

This was UAE's second consecutive victory, and they now have four points from two games, while for Qatar this was their campaign opener.

Oza won the toss and opted to bat first against Qatar.
