What made Aditi's showing even more impressive was not just the number of medals, but the consistency and improvement in her times. In all five individual events she competed in, both in Chennai last year and now in Gaya, she clocked better times, underlining her growth.
Nowhere was this clearer than in the 800m Freestyle, where she won bronze but slashed a staggering 19.42 seconds off her 2024 time.
Her individual gold medals came in the 200m Freestyle (2:09.51), 400m Freestyle (4:32.87), and 100m Butterfly (1:04.73). She also claimed bronze in the 800m Freestyle (9:28.20) and 1500m Freestyle (18:22.97), and was a vital part of Maharashtra바카라™s victorious relay squads in the 4x100m Freestyle and 4x100m Medley. The 50m Freestyle was the only event where she missed out on a podium finish.
These achievements were no fluke. Aditi had shown strong form earlier this year at the National Games in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, winning bronze in both the 200m and 400m Freestyle. She also helped Maharashtra pick up five silver and a bronze in the relay events, hinting at what was to come in Gaya.
A product of the KI-accredited Agnel Charities in Navi Mumbai, Aditi is known for her quiet demeanor outside the pool but transforms completely when she dives in. Under the watchful eyes of her early coaches, Shankar Madgundi and Vikas Bhadange at Rajmata Jijau Swimming Pool in Nashik Road, the Nashik native developed a clean, graceful style fueled by fierce determination.
In her final race of the Games, the demanding 1500m Freestyle, Aditi showed visible signs of fatigue. Yet, spurred on by her mother Radhika Hegde바카라™s cheering from the stands, she dug deep to clinch a bronze, a testament to her grit and mental strength.
